Louis François expands its offering: signing of distribution agreement with Süvy, the technical and healthy alternative to sugar for artisans and restaurateurs
Paris, November 24, 2025 — Louis François, a leading player in the formulation and supply of technical ingredients for the bakery, pastry, and ice cream industries, announces the signing of a distribution partnership with Laboratoires Innovi. This collaboration marks a strategic turning point in the range of products dedicated to professionals seeking to combine technical performance with high nutritional standards.
Süvy: sugar reinvented for professionals
Süvy is establishing itself as a genuine alternative to traditional sucrose, without compromising on taste, texture, caramelization, or process stability. Formulated from two ingredients—polydextrose and erythritol—Süvy stands out with a glycemic index of less than 2 and a calorie content up to eight times lower than that of traditional sugar.
This solution is aimed at artisan bakers, pastry chefs, and chocolatiers, as well as those in the food service industry, at a time when reducing sugar intake has become a major public health issue.
"Until now, manufacturers were not responsible for the massive presence of sugar in products. It was the only ingredient capable of ensuring structure, texture, preservation, color, and enjoyment. But now that technology has caught up with 700 years of history, now that science offers a healthy, stable, and effective alternative, manufacturers have a duty to give consumers a choice." Alexandra FREGONESE, President and Founder of Innovi.
A major challenge for professionals, directly linked to public health issues
Excessive consumption of added sugars is now a major public health issue (weight gain, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease). The World Health Organization recommends reducing these intakes. Süvy is fully committed to this trend of sugar substitution and reduction.
Thanks to its distribution by Louis François, professionals can now:
• offer "reduced-sugar" or "no added sugar" recipes, while retaining the key functionalities of sugar (caramelization, volume, texture);
• meet the growing expectations of consumers and clients in terms of well-being and nutrition ("reduced sugar," "low GI").
"When we discovered Süvy in June 2025, we found the ideal alternative to sugar: a product that is easy to work with, functional, and fully compatible with our ingredients. Süvy brings much more than just sweetness; it is becoming a cornerstone of our customers' formulations." Pierre Boulanger, Managing Director, Louis François.
A strong commitment to innovation and support
With this agreement, Louis François reaffirms its commitment to strengthening its portfolio of high value-added ingredients and supporting its customers in their product transformation. The partnership includes a comprehensive technical training program and specific recipe sheets to facilitate the integration of Süvy into existing processes.
