Description

Maltodextrin DE 16 is a starch-derived functional ingredient commonly used in the food industry. It has good dispersibility and excellent solubility in water, making it easy to incorporate in a variety of liquid and dry preparations.

Its low hygroscopicity means that it absorbs little moisture from the air, which improves its stability and shelf life. In solution, it develops a high viscosity, making it useful for thickening or stabilizing certain formulations.

Maltodextrin DE16 is an excellent bulking agent (dry extract adjustment) and adds body and creaminess to low-fat products.
It also adds body to acidic or low-sugar fruit sorbets.
